Palm (Palm OS 3.5 - 5)
- To begin, download the compressed .zip file from McGraw-Hill Ryerson's Online Learning Centre. After saving it to your hard drive, decompress the file into an empty directory. A mixture of .pdb and .prc files will result. If you've downloaded an earlier version of Study to Go, there will be 18 files. The newer version has 7 files.
- You now need to schedule the files for HotSync in order to transfer them to your Palm. The easiest way to accomplish this is with an installation utility. An installation utility comes with the Palm Desktop software.
- Start the installation tool. For all Palm Desktop versions on Windows, it's referred to as the 'Install Tool.' On Macintosh, it's referred to as either 'HotSync Manager' (2.x) or 'Install App' (1.x).
- Click on the appropriate button: 'Add' or 'Browse' or 'Select', varying with the platform. (For Macintosh Palm Desktop 2.x, you must first select the HOTSYNC>INSTALL menu item)
- Locate, select and install the 7 (or 18) .pdb and .prc files.
- At the next HotSync, Study to Go will be installed onto your device.
- While this is not always necessary, it's a good practice to perform a "soft" reset on your device. Please see your device's manual on how to perform a "soft" reset as each device is different.

Palm 5 Users (Palm Tungsten or newer Sony PDAs): If you're installing a newer version of Study to Go (comprised of 7 .pdb/.prc files), there are no compatibility issues, this instruction does not apply. If however, you've selected an older version (with 18 files), discard the 13 .prc files resulting from step 1 above, substitute these 2 replacement files, then proceed with step 2.
