STUDY TO GO INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Microsoft PocketPC (PPC 2000, 2002 & 2003)

  1. Start by downloading the compressed PocketPC file from McGraw-Hill Ryerson's Online Learning Centre. Unzip the downloaded file into an empty folder.
  2. Make sure that your PocketPC is in the synchronization cradle, connected to your computer, turned on and recognized by the host computer (via ActiveSync for Windows PCs or third party software for Macintosh).
  3. Double-click the file "Setup.exe" to begin installation. Follow the installation instructions as presented.
  4. If you're prompted about overwriting of files during any of the installation steps, say "yes to all."

Pocket PC 2003 Users: With the introduction of PocketPC 2003, Microsoft made substantial changes to the way in which data files are accessed on supported devices. As a result, older versions of Study to Go will not work properly on Pocket PC 2003 devices without additional installations. If Study to Go does not work properly after installation, you may need to take one or both of the following steps.
  • Download Microsoft's free Database Conversion Wizard from the Microsoft website. Follow instructions, installing it onto your PC. After the wizard is installed on your PC and Study to Go is installed on your handheld device, launch the the wizard and it will seek out data sources that require an update.
  • If you see a message that VB runtime is missing from your device, you need to install Microsoft's "eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime," again available free. After saving the .cab file to your desktop, use ActiveSync to copy the file onto your device and tap the file within the device's File Explorer.
