DR. BRUCE McASKILL, B.Sc., B.Ed., M.Ed., Ph.D.
In the past 16 years, Bruce has gained extensive experience in all aspects of curriculum research and development, learning resources, program implementation, and student assessment and evaluation. He has worked in public education as a high school mathematics and physics teacher and a mathematics department head in BC. He was also the Provincial Mathematics Curriculum Coordinator, Manager of the Mathematics, Science and Technology Unit Curriculum Branch, and the Manager of the Achievement Standards Branch for the BC Ministry of Education. In addition, he was a sessional instructor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Victoria. Upon leaving the ministry, Dr. McAskill founded Hold Fast Consultants Inc., which specializes in educational consulting. He is an author and an Assessment/Pedagogy Consultant for the MathLinks 7-9 program for McGraw-Hill Ryerson.
WAYNE WATT, B.Sc., B.Ed., M.Ed.
Wayne has been involved in education for nearly 40 years. He has taught mathematics grades 7 to 12 and has acted as a department head. He was a Provincial Mathematics Consultant for 25 years at the Manitoba Department of Education and Training. Currently, he is an instructor at the University of Manitoba, and works as a consultant and author at Hold Fast Consultants. He has been an executive member of the ASSM, NCTM, and MAMT to name a few. He is also an author and an Assessment/Pedagogy Consultant for the MathLinks 7-9 program for McGraw-Hill Ryerson.
Wanda Lloyd has been teaching secondary Mathematics Grades 7 – 12 for 18 years and served as Secondary Mathematics Consultant for Calgary Catholic School District. She has participated in curriculum review committees, resource review and development projects, and has facilitated the provision of ongoing professional development for teachers of mathematics. Currently she is teaching Mathematics 7, 8, 9 and is an advisor for the McGraw-Hill Ryerson's
MathLinks 7.
Blaise Johnson has been teaching high school mathematics in British Columbia for 20 years. Currently, he teaches grade 7, 10, and 12 enriched mathematics and is an author for
MathLinks 7-9 program for McGraw-Hill Ryerson. As well, he teaches computer immersion math 8. He is interested in the role of technology in learning mathematics.
Stella Ablett has been teaching mathematics from Grades 7 through 12 for 17 years, and been mathematics department head in both the public and independent schools systems. She has also been involved in committees for provincial mathematics assessment. Previously, she was a contributing author for McGraw-Hill Ryerson's
MathPower series. She holds degrees in BSc., BEd., and MEd. Currently, she is teaching at an independent school in West Vancouver and is an author for McGraw-Hill Ryerson
MathLinks 7-9 program.
Tricia Perry has been teaching for the last ten years focusing in the area of Mathematics. Currently, she is teaching Grade 8 mathematics in Manitoba. She has been working with the Provincial Association for the past five years, and most recently became the editor of their publications. She was an advisor for McGraw-Hill Ryerson's
MathLinks 7 and is an author for
MathLinks 8.
Joanne Aldridge is a consultant with Edmonton Public Schools in the area of Programming for Student Differences working specifically with junior high teachers. Joanne also provides service to schools in supporting their students who are at-risk, specifically students with mild to moderate cognitive and academic disabilities as well as students with behaviour issues. She is also the Special Education Consultant for McGraw-Hill Ryerson's
MathLinks 7.
Greg McInulty began his teaching career with the Vancouver School Board, teaching mathematics and information technology at levels ranging from grade 8 to grade 12. After five successful years teaching on the coast, he moved to Edmonton, where he spent four years running a math department. Currently, he is the Junior High Mathematics consultant for Edmonton Publics schools as well as the Problem Solving, Mental Math and Estimation Consultant for McGraw-Hill Ryerson's

Emily Kalwrowsky has been with the Edmonton Catholic School board since 1976 as a junior and/or high school teacher. She worked for Alberta Education in 1994-5 on Western Canada Protocol selecting resources and in 2005 writing Achievement Indicators. She has been the chair and/or member of Edmonton Junior High Mathematics Contest since 1982. She is also working as an advisor for McGraw-Hill Ryerson's

Enzo Timoteo has been involved in education for 35 years. He has taught mathematics Grades 7-12 as a teacher, department head, and district Mathematics Consultant. He has managed the new secondary mathematics curriculum for Alberta Learning and worked for CastleRock Research Publishing Company. He is currently working with student teachers at the University of Alberta and with the Edmonton regional Learning Consortium. He also presenting sessions and workshops on Mathematics across Canada and parts of the USA and is an advisor for McGraw-Hill Ryerson's

Rick Wunderlich has been a full time classroom teacher of Math and Science for 26 years and has served as a Math and Science Dept Head and on the District Mathematics Counsel. Rick has sat on Ministry of Education resource selection committees for gifted education and for career education. He has been a member of several Ministry of Education IRP development committees in both Mathematics and Science and has had roles in developing, trial writing, and interpreting exam results for internationally as well as provincially administered examinations. Rick is currently the team leader with responsibility for assessment for Shuswap Middle School. He has co-authored over 15 math and science texts and is currently an advisor for McGraw-Hill Ryerson's
MathLinks 7.
Ian Strachan has been teaching for 25 years with the Calgary Board of Education at the junior high level. He started his career teaching science however for the past 10 years he has taught both math and science. He was seconded for two years, in 1995 and 1996 and worked for the Science Alberta Foundation with their Elementary Science Teacher Institutes. He has also worked as a consultant with McGraw-Hill Ryerson on the ScienceFocus Grade 7 textbook. Currently, he is the Math/Science curriculum Leader at Mid Junior High and a consultant for McGraw-Hill Ryerson's

Ralph Backe has taught Special Education for Grades 4-6, Grades 4 and 5, Mathematics for grads 7 to 9. He was a resource teacher for grades 7 to 9 and also a division support teacher for mathematics. He has worked with the Manitoba Department of Education to help develop curricular resources and is a frequent mathematics presenter at SAG. Currently, he is working as an author for McGraw-Hill Ryerson's
MathLinks 7.
Ervin Henderson has taught at the junior level including math, science, and physical education for 31 years. He is an experienced presenter speaking on many topics relevant to middle year teachers. He has also contributed many articles to the SMTS Mathematics Journal and initiated the MathCounts program in Saskatchewan at the University of Regina and at the University of Saskatchewan. In 2002 he was presented with the Saskatchewan Mathematics Teacher's Society Master Teacher award. He is currently working on McGraw-Hill Ryerson's
MathLinks program.
